Chai-Inspired Comfort Food Recipes for Wintertime

Comfort food is a wintertime staple, bringing back cozy childhood memories with every bite. Start a crackling fire, bundle up in a warm wool blanket and try one of the recipes below for a sweet and spicy twist on your favorite tastes of home.

 

Chai Chicken Sticks

Nothing says comfort food like some home-cooked chicken. This recipe for drumsticks marinated with spicy chai and soy sauce will satisfy your comfort craving.

 

Ingredients:

1 cup Oregon Chai Original Chai Tea Latte Concentrate

¼ cup olive oil

¼ cup soy sauce

2 pressed garlic cloves

1 tbsp fresh ground ginger

½ tsp celery salt

½ tsp coarsely ground black pepper

½ tsp chili powder

24-36 mini chicken drumsticks

 

Directions:

Combine all ingredients except chicken and mix well. Marinate drumsticks for at least 2 hours, turning once. Grill chicken until cooked.

 

 

Oregon Chai Sweet Potatoes

Baked potatoes have the magical ability to fill both your heart and your belly with their delicious warmth. This casserole holds true with its delightful mixture of sweet potatoes, chai, breadcrumbs, sautéed onions and apple chunks.

 

Ingredients:

1 tbsp olive oil

1 ½ tbsp brown sugar

2 fresh sweet potatoes

½ medium red onion, thinly sliced

1 apple, peeled and chunked

¼ tsp salt

1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

1/8 tsp coarsely ground black pepper

¼ cup Oregon Chai Original Chai Tea Latte Concentrate

¼ cup Riesling white wine

2 slices white bread, processed into soft crumbs

1 tbsp melted butter

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel and slice sweet potatoes into ½ inch slices then steam in microwave about 5 minutes. Sauté onions in olive oil until soft and tender, add apple chunks and cook a few more minutes, then add steamed sweet potatoes. Mix sugar, salt, nutmeg and pepper, then sprinkle over vegetables and apples, tossing gently to coat. Spoon mixture into a one-quart casserole dish. Mix Chai Concentrate and wine and pour over sweet potato mixture. Cover and bake about 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Meanwhile, toss soft breadcrumbs with melted butter. Uncover casserole and sprinkle with breadcrumb mixture. Bake uncovered an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.

 

 

4 a.m. Griddle Cakes

Sometimes after a night of tossing and turning and listening to the wind rattle the house, the only thing you can you do is get up and make breakfast at four in the morning. These hearty griddle cakes are the perfect early morning pick-me-up.

 

Ingredients:

1 egg

1 cup sour cream or buttermilk

¼ cup Oregon Chai Original Chai Tea Latte Concentrate

2 tbsp canola oil

1 cup flour

¼ cup granola

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

 

Directions:

Blend egg, milk, Chai Concentrate and canola oil. Sift dry ingredients and stir into liquid mix until blended. Grease heated grill. Spoon batter onto grill and cook until both sides are nicely browned. Serve immediately with butter and warm honey or maple syrup.

        So ok I understood the problem. In fact there are of two kind :1 – the first concern that in the Try { }you have to put that code :t2t.ContinueTo(moveLocation);//tweenObjects[mc].AddSequences(t2t); that line was wrong I thinktweenObjects[mc].Start();2 – the second point is known behavior of Silverlight player (i think). in fact when a storyboard targets a renderTransform property, it is just impossible to get the actual value of that property. I don’t know exactly why… The solution consists in using TweenableProperties.Left instead of X. So you will have access to updated value for that kind of properties. I send you the project updated now.
